Free Chrome extension — on-device cutouts

Product photos with a transparent background

Catalog images sell better when the subject is clean and the backdrop is intentional — transparent for a template, or a flat color that matches the storefront. Easy Background Remover is aimed at that loop inside Chrome: cut the product out locally, fix the silhouette, export PNG, move on to the next SKU.

Why sellers care about “local”

Product photography often includes packaging still in development, unpublished designs, or faces in lifestyle shots. Uploading every variant to an online cutout page adds friction and a privacy itch. Keeping the pass in the browser is calmer when you process a batch over an afternoon.

A practical workflow

  1. Shoot or export a reasonably sharp photo (soft focus makes every automatic cutout worse).
  2. Open Easy Background Remover and drop the file.
  3. Check hard edges: straps, thin legs of furniture, glossy reflections.
  4. Use Erase to push background remnants off the subject; use Add if the model ate a highlight or a thin part.
  5. Preview on checkerboard, then try a white or brand-color fill if your listing needs a solid plate.
  6. Download PNG and drop it into your listing template.

History in the extension keeps a short list of recent jobs so you can reopen yesterday’s cutout without hunting the Downloads folder — handy when a marketplace reject asks for a tighter crop.

What this does not replace

Lighting, styling, and honest product representation still matter more than any mask. The extension removes backdrop busywork; it does not invent a studio.
