How to make a transparent PNG in Chrome
A transparent PNG keeps the subject and drops the backdrop to alpha. Here is the path inside Easy Background Remover.
Steps
- Install Easy Background Remover and open the editor from the toolbar icon.
- Add an image — drop, choose file, or paste. JPG is fine as input; you will export PNG.
- Wait for processing. First session may download the on-device model first.
- Inspect transparency on the checkerboard preview. Gray squares mean alpha.
- Refine if needed (Add / Erase). Thin strands and product corners are worth thirty seconds.
- Download PNG (or Copy). Open the file in any viewer that shows checkerboard — you should see no original wallpaper behind the subject.
Optional background fill
If you need a solid plate instead of alpha, set a background color or gradient in the editor, then export. For true transparency in a design tool, keep checkerboard / clear export.
Common mistakes
- Saving a screenshot of the editor instead of using Download PNG — you will bake in the checker pattern.
- Expecting JPG export for transparency — use PNG.
- Skipping refine on hair, then blaming the format.
