Clean profile photos and avatar cutouts
Portrait cutouts fail in predictable places: flyaway hair, glasses glare, earbuds, soft shoulders against a similar wall color. Easy Background Remover gives you an automatic pass plus brushes so you are not stuck with a plastic edge on a team page or Discord avatar.
When this use case fits
- Circular or square avatars that need a transparent or flat fill
- Speaker thumbnails for a webinar page
- “Meet the team” grids where every photo had a different office background
Tips that actually help
Start from a decent frame. Crop loosely before cutout if the original is a huge group photo — less background for the model to invent.
Check hair last. Zoom with the before/after slider, then soft Erase along the halo. Softness on the brush is there for a reason; a hard brush on curls looks stamped.
Glasses. If the lens picked up a window, the model may keep it or drop a chunk of frame. Add/Erase with a small size fixes more than restarting the whole job.
Export PNG, then resize in your design tool. Doing avatar size inside a random website adds another upload you do not need.
Privacy-minded teams often prefer local tools for staff photos. That story is spelled out on Privacy and local processing.
