What usually works
- Attaching a PNG to a message as a file (recipients open it in an image viewer).
- Pasting or inserting into tools that preserve alpha (many modern slide and doc editors).
- Embedding in a web page or HTML email template that you control.
What often breaks
- Legacy email clients that ignore alpha and show a black or white box.
- Editors that flatten on paste into a fixed page background.
- “Save as PDF” pipelines that resample hard and soften fine cutout edges.
- Forwarding chains that convert the image to JPG along the way (JPG background limitations).
A practical export path
- Finish the cutout in Easy Background Remover and confirm the checkerboard preview.
- Decide: true transparency, or a flat plate that matches the email/doc background.
- If the client is unknown, bake a white (or brand-color) plate before you leave the editor — flat color travels more predictably than alpha through old mail clients.
- Download PNG. Insert the file; avoid screenshotting the editor window.
- Send yourself a test message from the same client your audience uses.
Size and clarity
Email attachments have practical size limits. Huge marketing renders may need a smaller longest edge before send — without switching to JPG if you still need transparency. See Transparent PNG file size tips.
When to skip transparency entirely
Newsletters with a known cream or gray page color often look cleaner with a matching flat export than with a “transparent” asset that gets a surprise matte. That decision is covered in When flat color export beats alpha.
