Export a PNG for email and documents

A transparent PNG is perfect for design tools. Email clients and office documents are less consistent: some keep alpha, some paint an unexpected background, and some recompress the attachment until edges look muddy.

This page is about the destination, not “what PNG is.” For the format primer, see PNG transparency for beginners.

What usually works

What often breaks

A practical export path

  1. Finish the cutout in Easy Background Remover and confirm the checkerboard preview.
  2. Decide: true transparency, or a flat plate that matches the email/doc background.
  3. If the client is unknown, bake a white (or brand-color) plate before you leave the editor — flat color travels more predictably than alpha through old mail clients.
  4. Download PNG. Insert the file; avoid screenshotting the editor window.
  5. Send yourself a test message from the same client your audience uses.

Size and clarity

Email attachments have practical size limits. Huge marketing renders may need a smaller longest edge before send — without switching to JPG if you still need transparency. See Transparent PNG file size tips.

When to skip transparency entirely

Newsletters with a known cream or gray page color often look cleaner with a matching flat export than with a “transparent” asset that gets a surprise matte. That decision is covered in When flat color export beats alpha.
